This panel will explore the evolving challenges that journalists around the world face amid the return of an administration in Washington that is known for its dislike of the press. Panelists will discuss the rise of the fake news rhetoric, growing hostility towards members of the media, including targeted online harassment, the impact of populist leadership on journalistic freedoms, and the ripple effects of how Trump approaches his approach to media in the United States. In such an environment, exacerbated by growing skepticism about media, how do institutions protect press freedom and how can journalists rebuild public trust in media
Moderated by Anup Kaphle.
