Eliza Anyangwe is Managing Editor of CNN’s multi-award-winning gender inequality reporting team As Equals, and co-founder of The Gender Beat, a collaborative project to promote nuanced, impactful gender journalism and build a supportive community for those who produce it, particularly in the Majority World. Before joining CNN in February 2021, she was Managing Editor of The Correspondent, a platform for constructive, member-funded, ad-free journalism. Eliza has spoken about gender, journalism or international development on stages from SXSW to TED Global; has written for Open Democracy, Al Jazeera and the FT, and has appeared on Newsnight, BBC World Service, PRI’s The World and Our Body Politic, among others. Megan Clement

Megan Clement is a journalist specialising in gender and human rights. She also writes about Paris, where she has lived since 2015. She is the editor of Impact, a bilingual newsletter of feminist journalism from the Gloria Media network, and teaches journalism at the Université Sorbonne-Nouvelle. Megan has written for The Guardian, Bloomberg, Al Jazeera, the Sydney Morning Herald and more. Her criticism and essays can be found in the Australian Book Review and Meanjin. In 2021, she was awarded the inaugural Island Magazine Nonfiction Prize.

Mia Malan is the founder and editor-in-chief of the Bhekisisa Centre for Health Journalism, a South African-based media start-up. She has worked in newsrooms in Johannesburg, Nairobi and Washington, DC, winning more than 30 awards for her radio, print and television work. A former Knight International Journalism Fellow and a Reuters Institute Journalism Fellow, Mia speaks internationally about health issues in Africa and media sustainability in the Global South. In addition to her editing and reporting, Mia is frequently asked to speak on health issues for local and international media such as National Public Radio, Vox, BBC, Channel 4 and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. She regularly moderates panels for high-level events. John-Allan Namu

John-Allan Namu is an award-winning investigative journalist. He is the co-founder and CEO of Africa Uncensored, a media house based out of Nairobi, Kenya, which focuses on public interest investigative and in depth journalism. He has covered numerous elections including the 2022 Kenyan Election which was bombarded by false claims online. He himself has been the target of disinformation. He has interviewed high-level politicians and power brokers from across the region and investigated crimes committed at every level of African society. John-Allan has received numerous awards for his journalism including CNN African Journalist of the Year. He has twice been named joint winner of the Annual Journalism Excellence Awards in Kenya. In 2022, John-Allan was named the Human Rights Defender of the Year in Kenya by the Working Group on Human Rights Defenders and the Defenders Coalition.
