This panel discussion will shed light on reasons why some newsrooms may hesitate to adopt solutions journalism and demystify what it truly entails. Additionally, the panel will provide practical tips and advice on effectively conveying the significance of solutions journalism to colleagues and peers. Engaging with staff journalists from various European countries, the discussion will explore differences between newsrooms and countries of publication.
Facilitated by the Solutions Journalism Network (SJN) and the European Journalism Centre (EJC), this panel discussion will delve into valuable lessons gleaned from grantees of the Solutions Journalism Accelerator programme, who will share learnings and outcomes of this three-year initiative launched in 2022. The programme offers comprehensive support, including grant funding, mentoring, resources and knowledge transfer, to support solutions-focused development journalism in news organisations in Germany, France and the UK. Spearheaded by the EJC in partnership with the SJN, the programme is supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Moderated by Nina Fasciaux.
Organised in association with European Journalism Centre.
